About Me
Hi, I’m Nikki and I’m the artist and owner of Nikki Nicole Co. I am currently based out of Raleigh, North Carolina where I was born and raised. I live with my husband and two kiddos- Reagan and Greyson. When I’m not chasing them or watching Psych, I’m either painting or knocked out asleep!
I’ve been unofficially painting for as long as I can remember. My artistic ability is definitely from my dad. I remember him drawing an eagle on my brother’s poster board for school and saying “I want to be able to do that!”.
In middle school and high school, you could always find me getting in trouble in class for doodling instead of taking notes, drawing my friends’ names in pretty letters with palm trees or flowers, and being the last one on the cheerleading team to finish making her football players’ poster (oops! sorry, Coach P).
I went to Appalachian State University, and even though I started with studying photography, and spent most of my weeknights in the darkroom. I ended up graduating with a marketing degree for fear of not being “practical” (ha!). Along the way, I developed more of a love for art and design.
Shortly after college, I married my high school sweetheart, and we moved into a little pink (you read that right) basement apartment in Boone. Six months later we moved out, but the place where we started our marriage held so many memories for us and I didn’t want to forget it, so I drew it! That is where this all started, and I now offer a variety of custom work including dog portraits, wedding venues, and family portraits.
Here are some things that make me, ME!
- If you haven’t figured it out already, my name is Nikki Nicole. As confusing as that can be, it really is my name. It says it right there on my birth certificate. First name: Nikki. Middle name: Nicole. Don’t ask my parents why, because they’ll just tell you they thought it was pretty!
- I am an identical twin, born three minutes apart (I’m the oldest).
- I’m married to my high school sweetheart (Westin), and together we have two kids (Reagan and Greyson) that are 15 months apart.
- I’m a believer in Jesus Christ and want to use the gifts He has given me to love and serve people.
- I am a beach person turned mountain person after living in Boone for 8 years. Nothing beats a mountain summer.
- I love waking up to the smell of coffee in the morning (thank you “Delay Brew”).
- I spend the miniscule amount of free time that I have looking at floor plans, learning about health and wellness (@nutritionallynik), or playing praise songs on the piano.
